But beware my honeys, there is a BIG, and I mean BIG, difference between dating a MAN and dating a BOY.   Lucky enough for you sweet thangs, I’m going to help you learn how to differentiate between the two.

PSA: Differentiating a MAN vs a BOY is NOT, I repeat, is NOT based solely on age.  I’ve dated guys that are 25 that are far more mature and far more MANLY than guys I’ve dated that are 35…

DATING A MAN VS DATING A BOY

 

MAN:  Holds the door open for you

BOY:  Expects you to open the door yourself

 

MAN:  Pays for your food

BOY:  Expects you to pay for your own food/asks to split the bill #eyeroll

 

MAN:  Communicates his feelings/emotions calmly and clearly

BOY:  Ignores you, yells at you, BLOCKS you, blames you and does NOT express his feelings/emotions in a respectful manner

 

MAN:  Treats you like a queen

BOY:  Treats you like a bro

 

MAN:  Makes plans for the future.  Has clear goals and ambitions

BOY:  Doesn’t plan for the future.  Only cares about the moment – aka going to the bars every night

 

MAN:  Will invest fully in you and the relationship

BOY:  Scared of commitment/hits the hills running the moment you say the word “boyfriend”

 

MAN:  Is firm in his morals and values

BOY:  Doesn’t have set morals/values – very inconsistent

 

MAN:  Has integrity – if he says he’s going to do something, whatever it may be, he will do it

BOY:  Makes endless broken promises

 

MAN:  Stable income and work life

BOY:  Broke AF

 

MAN:  Will take you out on dates

BOY:  Invites you over to “Netflix and chill”

 

MAN:  Has intellectual conversations about the world

BOY:  Doesn’t talk about anything deep and meaningful

 

MAN:  Is there to comfort you in your times of need

BOY:  Runs away from anything displeasing – he will NOT wipe away your tears, darling

 

MAN:  Makes you feel secure in yourself and the relationship – always brings you up

BOY:  Makes you feel insecure about yourself and the relationship –  brings you down and makes you constantly question everything

 

MAN:  Doesn’t put a huge emphasis on social media unless it’s work/family/friend related

BOY:  Follows HELLA HOES on Instagram and consistently likes their photos

 

So ladies, MAKE SURE YOU DATE A MAN AND NOT A BOY!!!
