More Good Reads!

What do more sunny days in San Diego mean?  More days of me sprawled out at the beach catching some rays – and reading some good books!  If you know me, there’s nothing I love more than a dark tan and some captivating books.  So, I decided to add five more reads to my “top must-read book list”.  Click HERE to read the original blog post wink.

So without further ado…  here are some more books you MUST read!

Eat, Pray, Love – Elizabeth Gilbert

I honestly think I’m 23 going on 30 for how much I’m into this book.  But hey, I know a good story when I read one!  There’s a reason why this is a best selling book AND why it was made into a movie – just saying!  But really, YOU SHOULD READ IT!

“What is it about?” you may ask.  WELL,  it’s the tale of Elizabeth Gilbert (the author)  when she decides to quit her job and leave her life behind in New York to go travel to Italy, India, and Bali for a year.  Her sole purpose of this trip is pleasures, spiritual enlightenment and for rediscovering herself.  She makes me want to pack my bags and move across the world, too!

The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho

I’m not kidding when I say I read this whole book in one sitting – it’s THAT GOOD!   This tale follows a shepherd on his journey to fulfill his life prophecy by going to the Egyptian pyramids – but it’s soooo much more than that!  This book will INSPIRE YOU to follow your dreams.  Trust.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert T. Kiyosaki

Shoutout to my dad for recommending this book to me.  Want to learn how to manage your money better?  THIS IS THE BOOK!  Except it’s told in the story form of a boy learning about money through his rich dad and his poor dad – aka it’s enjoyable to read.  So read this book so you can get some more paper!  wink

The Mastery of Love – Don Miguel Luiz

There’s no author I love more than Don Miguel Luiz.  HE IS MY FAVORITE.   If you still haven’t read his book “The Four Agreements” – aka my Bible – NOW IT THE TIME.  In “The Mastery of Love”, Don Miguel Luiz explains the fears and beliefs that undermine love and tells one how to heal these wounds.  He teaches that “Happiness can only come from inside of you and is the result of your love. When you are aware that no one else can make you happy, and that happiness is the result of your love, this becomes the greatest mastery of the Toltec: the Mastery of Love.”

This book doesn’t just apply to romantic relationships, but to the self, friendships, and family relationships.  So IT APPLIES TO YOU!

365 Tao: Daily Meditations – Ming-Dao Deng

I don’t identify as a Taoist, BUT I do like the messages they teach.  Namely that Tao is always moving, just like life.  This book is filled with daily meditations along with passages explaining the way of Tao.  Want to learn in harmony with yourself and the surrounding universe?  READ THIS!

Happy reading! Xx
